The study of foreign advanced experience will contribute to the development of seed breeding and seed production in the EEU (Eurasian Economic Union).

20 January, 2022

On January 19-20, 2010, on the initiative of the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia to the Netherlands, Minister of Industry and Agroindustry of the Eurasian Economic Commission Artak Kamalyan visited the Kingdom of the Netherlands, where he met with several leading Dutch companies in the field. The first stop of the Minister was at the PlantLab Center in Amsterdam, which is one of the leading vegetable producing companies in the world with innovative solutions in closed space. The representatives of the company presented the activity of the manufactory through a presentation, after which a discussion was held on cooperation with the EEU countries.

The next meeting of the Minister was at the world-famous Bejo Seed company in the vegetable seed production market. The EEC Minister informed the representatives of the company about the task set by the leaders of the EEU countries to develop seed production within the framework of the strategic directions of Eurasian integration development by 2025. According to Artak Kamalyan, the Eurasian Economic Union has a significant potential for agricultural development, which needs the introduction of necessary serious innovations and complex solutions. They exchanged views on the prospects of establishing a seed production to meet the needs of the domestic market in the EEU countries under the Bejo Seed brand.

On January 20, A. Kamalyan visited Bayer / De Ruiter Seeds Experience Center, Koppert Biological Systems, and Ammerlaan The Green Innovator. In the meetings with the representatives of the latter, the EEC Minister mentioned that currently one of the main tasks for the countries of the Union is to increase the self-sufficiency of the highly productive adaptive range, high-quality seeds. In carrying out work in this direction, the EEU is guided by the vision of creating a favorable ecosystem of state regulation, increasing investment attractiveness through the use of technologies, and dynamic development of seed production. The Minister's visit to the Netherlands ended with an official dinner with the heads of about 10 agro-industrial companies, during which practical agreements were reached in several directions.
